Picture Vs. Reality: Shelf-Stable Breakfast Edition

improved_recipeWhen reader Nick bought his Bacon Scramble from Hormel Compleats, a line of shelf-stable prepared meals, he probably wasn’t expecting a colorful and beautiful gourmet experience. Food preservation technology is pretty impressive, but not that impressive. He wasn’t really expecting what he got when he opened the package, though, so he snapped a picture and sent it over to us.

The meal is perfectly edible (we think) and might resemble the exterior package a little more when freed from its container and fluffed up a little bit. Maybe we should all remember, though, that if you want a cookbook-perfect breakfast scramble, you should just scramble your own eggs and make them extra-fluffy.
