Walmart Recalling 330,000 Electric Griddles That May Serve Up A Shock

(CSPC)
You might shock yourself while cooking by how many ways you can figure out to melt cheese into and onto things, but you shouldn’t actually receive an electrical shock in the process. That’s Walmart’s cue to recall 330,000 electric griddles that could pose a shock hazard to home chefs.

Though no injuries have been reported so far, the Consumer Product Safety Commission says the heating element can crack and water can get inside, “posing a shock hazard when the griddle is plugged into an electrical outlet.”

The recall involves Rival brand electric griddles with model number XJ-1420, which are black and 20 inches long and 10.5 inches wide. The products were sold exclusively at Walmart stores and online from July 2015 through December 2015 for about $20..

Consumers should immediately unplug and stop using the recalled griddles and return them to any Walmart store for a full refund.
